Bees! Run!

Didn't run did you?!

Why do I bother...

Oh yeah, here's me playing, no, illustrating, no, photoshoddying about. Yes, enjoy the playful shoddy illustration.

Bees - 01

Bees. I have a thing for bees at the moment, don't know why. Maybe it's something to do with the fact that 80% of all modern crops rely on the little blighters to pollinate them. No bees... No crops... No food... yes, I think I might go get some food.

Nup, nothing else.

Take: 48

Hey Squid,

I hadn't really thought about them as tracers but a Bee Gun would be cool. I can just hear the action hero now. "You've BeeGun to make me MAD!" and then he opens fire.

Good point Tich!

Grab your pitch forks and flaming torches, get the bees, kill them, kill them!!

Ummm, yeah, OK, maybe not, I think there'd be people but there'd be a lot of problems supplying enough food to large cities. It's interesting that in the States there aren't enough bees for agriculture. Solution, large apiaries are based on trucks which drop off hives to farms for short periods to pollinate crops. The whole engineering aspect to agriculture is a bizarre and interesting concept.

Maybe that strange sensation was therapeutic.

My dad used to keep hives until he was stung behind the ear by a bee. He says it almost killed him but I don't think it stopped him enjoying being rubbed all over with lotion by the local nurse.

Hey Tich, you doomsayer you, I'm not sure there is a decline in bees. Just massive increases in commercial agriculture and not enough bees to go around.

I'll check it out on the morrow.

BTW, forgot to mention the picture is nicely done.

on the decline in bees. we had some kind of microscopic mite practically destroy the commercial honey bee population in this area. the wild honey bees seemed to be immune. the bee-keepers had to bring in mite resistent bees. to keep things pollinated.

tich; the muffin films were cute :)

Or maybe his city enforces those rediculous laws about garbage cans with debree visibly sticking out of them can not be picked up...and so he has blamed you about it ever since? Even though it happened like 4 years ago and you just moved into the neighborhood like 2 1/2.

Anonymous Anonymous mused...

B-Hip? Feud? Garbage Collection? Like 2 1/2?

I don't think so... maybe I should start a feud with SafeT... Yes, a feud I say! It will be a feud to rival those of the Castellans and shall be passed on from generation to generation with no memory of its orgin to sully the pure living hatred our respective lineages have for one another. Until one day, in the distant future when the air thick with the taint of human pollution and our abhorrent rancor for one another, two of our descendants shall without knowledge of their familial allegiances, fall in love. It shall be a doomed love but I assure you it shall be a love for all the ages.

And gay. Yes, definately gay. Their names will be Greg SafeT and Barry Films. The perverted little shits deserve to die for their unnatural love really. SafeT and I will learn nothing from their deaths... what a waste of half a century.

Of course i know what you mean, but i used to sleep with 2 of my brothers.
I was about 7 so that would make them 5 & 4 at the time. We all slept in a double bed.
We has the best fun & were always in trouble for yucking it up.
my favorite game was to strip off all the blankets & we'd crawl around the perimeter on all fours as fast as we could. If someone was too slow you'd just crawl over them. then you would start giggling so hard you couldn't crawl & we'd end up in a heap laughing our heads off. Then dad would come in with a belt & that would be the end of that. :)

I once hauled a load of live honey bees from New Jersy to South Dakota. It was very interesting and educational.

I don't recall how many hives you can put on an eighteen wheeler but it's a hell of a lot of bees.

And they are always dying and being pushed off the flatbed by the live ones, good housekeepers that they are, and you are thinking "Oh fuck, they will all be dead by the time I get there."

But new ones are being born so there are still millions when you arrive. It was a cool haul.

Hey Arcturus

Thanks for dropping bye. It's definately OK that bees scare you. They have little poisonus painful attachments on them. One of my most vivid kiddy memories was being stung on the foot and running home to mum with the sting and half it's guts hanging out of me. Took me a long time to get to like them after that.

Intuition vs experience... they both have their place.

PS. Comments mean nothing unless they're actually saying something... or humorous.
